Inventories on mobile app

You can make an inventory on the Trail mobile app, either with using a RFID scanner, scanning the QR-codes or adding items manually on your smart phone.
You will find inventories on browser under Items -module, 'Inventories' tab.

The screenshots are form our iOS app, unfortunately inventories are not currently available on our Android app.

  1. Log in to your organization's Trail environment
  2. Select 'Inventories' from the menu bar on the left hand side
  3. If there are any open inventories, they will be visible on this page.
  4. Click '+' to create a new inventory. You can also create a new inventory first on browser and then continue with the mobile app. To continue with an open inventory, simply click the name of the inventory you wish to proceed.
  5. Search for the location or select it from the list. Click the name of the location in which you want to perform the inventory in.
  6. Inventory view opens. You will get a list of all the items that should be found from the location.
NOTE: If you create the inventory on browser, you can choose if Trail will list only the items that are labeled. If you create the inventory on mobile app, Trail will list all the items in that location
  7. Start scanning the labels in that location by clicking the barcode icon on top right corner of the page. If the item doesn't have a label printed, you can mark it as found manually, by clicking 'Add' next to the item.
  8. When you have finished scanning the items, click 'End Inventory'. If there were items found in the location that were not supposed to be there, those items will be listed as 'misplaced'. After closing the inventory, these will be relocated to this (inventory) location.
  9. Trail will ask you to confirm that you wish to end the inventory. Select 'Ok' to proceed.
  10. A conclusion of your inventory will open. You will find the same conclusion on browser: Items > Inventories. Filter by state 'closed'
