Add and remove item content (mobile)


Some items — like transport equipment — can hold other items as content. This is useful when several items are handled and moved together.

For example:

  • Parent item: Camera kit → Content: camera, lens, lamp, battery, memory card
  • Parent item: Rack → Content: 10 pairs of shoes, size 10

In Trail, an item can hold content in two cases:

  • Item type is Case
  • From item card's details (web view), the Can have contents setting has been turned on.

When this applies, the item card includes additional features:

  • Unload case – Removes all content from the parent item and moves it to the parent item's physical location.
  • View content items – Content items are listed under the Contents section.

Adding an item as content

  1. Open the parent item's item card (e.g. a trolley/camera case).
  2. Tap the scanner icon (blue QR code).
  3. Scan the QR code of the item you want to add as content.

  1. From the options, select Add to current item.
  2. The item has now been added as content.

Unloading content

This feature allows to remove all content from the parent item and moves it to the parent item's physical location.

1. Open the parent item's item card

2. Click 'Unload Case'

3. Trail will ask if you want to unload the content

4. If you click 'Yes', content will be relocated to the parent item's location.
