Attaching an unlinked label on item (mobile)

Trail supports unlinked labels, which can be attached to existing items using the Trail mobile app. This is useful when you want to add a new label to an item that has not been printed directly from Trail printer.

Attaching an unlinked label

  1. Open the Trail mobile app
  2. Go to Menu → Items
  3. Open item's item card.
  4. Tap the blue scan button

  1. Scan the QR code on the unlinked label

  1. Trail asks if you want to link the label to the item
  2. Tap Yes

  1. The label is now linked to the item. The identifier on the linked label will replace the identifier previously shown by Trail.

Using your own existing labels

If your organization uses its own existing labels, enter the identifier from the label in the My identifier field on the item card in Trail.

This allows the existing identifier to be stored and used alongside the item's information in Trail.
