Searching for items
Free text search
- The fastest way to find an item.
- Each word entered acts as its own search term.
- The search field looks for the word you type across multiple fields, such as: model, category, description, serial number, identifier, and location. Depending on the organisation, the search may also include other fields, such as a vehicle's registration number.
How text search works
- At least 3 characters: If a word is longer than three characters, type at least three characters before the search is triggered.
- Minus sign (-): Use the minus sign to exclude results from the search. Example: microphone -wireless
- Quotation marks (" "): Quotation marks search for an exact word order. Example: "Truss 2m"
- Searching for multiple different items (OR): Helps list several different items or models. Example: Speakers OR Microphones or I1234567 OR I1234455
Advanced search
- With advanced search, you can search for items by, for example, location or department.
- Under Deleted, you can search for soft-deleted items.
- Trail also allows saving favourite searches for later use.

Item list bulk actions

- These include: adding an item to a reservation, printing an item label, mass editing of basic information, confirming the current location, and deletion.
- You can select items by clicking their checkboxes.
- By clicking the top checkbox (in the column header row), you can select all items on the current page at once (max. 100 items).
- You can select items from different pages to perform the bulk action to. The limit for this is 200 items per selection
