When to use Productions

It is designed for managing productions that stay together as one entity throughout their lifecycle.

Productions can be a good alternative to Reservations when:

• The production and its items are managed as one entity throughout their lifecycle. Items typically remain part of the production until they are stored, replaced, or scrapped.
• The items are usually moved and stored together, for example in the same storage location.
• Transport and storage units are standardized, making it easier to estimate transportation needs based on the size and number of units.
• The same production is stored and used again later, with its items mainly dedicated to that production.
• The complete production is rented or transferred to another performing arts organization as one entity.

For example, a theatre production that is built for a specific performance, stored after the production period, and later used to rebuild the same show is well suited for the Productions module.
