Wired Gryphon Barcode Scanner

The wired barcode scanner is an easy and reliable choice for daily use.

Setup

1. The device is ready to use immediately without additional settings.

Use

1. Connect the scanner to the computer with a USB cable
2. Activate the barcode field in Trail that the scan relates to (for example by opening the reservation of your need)
3. Scan the label with the scanner device

Wireless Gryphon Barcode Scanner

The wireless barcode scanner offers more freedom of movement in the space.

Especially suitable for: reservations, lendings, and inventories

Charging indicator lights: Green light → battery fully charged. Orange/red light → charging in progress or battery low

Setup

1. Connect the USB cable to the cable port at the back of the charging dock
2. Place the scanner device in the dock and charge the battery fully before first use
3. Using a separate power supply usually charges faster. The device also charges while connected to a computer.
4. The scanner device and charging dock are paired with each other. Always use the same scanner and dock together.

Use

1. Connect the charging dock to the computer with the dock's cable
2. Take the scanner out of the charging dock
3. Activate the barcode field in Trail that the scan relates to (for example by opening the reservation of your need)
4. Scan the label

Linea Pro Barcode Scanner as Part of the Trail Mobile App

The Linea Pro barcode scanner works with an iPhone or iPod Touch and is especially suited for mobile use.

Especially suitable for: transports

Scanning distance: Basic model: approx. 15–30 cm. Mid Range model: up to 1–3 m (depending on QR code size and lighting)

Setup

1. Open the holder section at the top of the scanner. Pull it straight forward, then fold it open
2. Slide the phone into the scanner
3. Close the holder section carefully
4. Charge the scanner before use. The phone charges simultaneously with the scanner device

Use

1. Open the Trail app on the phone
2. Open the transport view
3. Scan by pressing the scan buttons on the sides of the scanner

The sides of the scanner also have helper buttons for turning the phone's power on/off and adjusting the volume while the phone is in the scanner.

Zebra Bluetooth Scanner as Part of the Trail Mobile App

Scan item-labels even more efficiently with a separate Zebra Bluetooth scanner device. The scanner can be connected to the Trail mobile app. The scanner helps scan labels quickly and reliably even in dark locations.

Especially suitable for: reservations, transports, and inventories

Scanning distance: Depends on the size of the QR code being scanned.

Setup

1. Charge the scanner before use by placing it in the charging dock and connecting the dock's power cable to an outlet
2. Open the Trail mobile app
3. Open Menu → click Connect Zebra Scanner
4. A barcode appears on the screen, which is used to pair the devices
5. Take the scanner out of the dock and scan the barcode
6. The first time, the mobile app will separately confirm whether you want to pair the devices. Select "Pair"
7. The scanner device and mobile app are now connected

Use

1. Open the Trail mobile app
2. Open Trail's view (for example, a specific inventory view)
3. Point the scanner at the QR code of the item you want to scan
4. The item is scanned. A successful scan is confirmed by the scanner with a beep, vibration feedback, and a green LED light
5. After the first scan, it's a good idea to check in the Trail app that the device was scanned in correctly
6. Continue scanning other item-labels in the same way, or stop scanning once you're done

Disconnecting from the Zebra Scanner

Remember to disconnect the connection between the mobile app and the scanner device afterward, so that others can use the scanner in turn.
