Reserving Equipment Kits

In Trail, it is possible to create equipment kits by locating items inside each other.

For example, a camera kit can be created by locating a lens, a memory card, a camera bag, and a tripod inside a camera body. This ensures that other parts of the camera are reserved when you reserve the camera body. Now, the camera body acts as a parent item for its contents.
When reserving an equipment kit, always reserve the parent device.

After reserving the parent item’s model, the model will appear on the booking page in ‘Planned’ state. NOTE! The content does not yet appear in the list, because now you have only reserved the model. The individual items that belong to this model contain different devices or even different sets of items.

When you read out the parent item ID (scan the parent item QR- or barcode to 'Read barcode field'), Trail automatically reads out the contents of the parent item as well.

When the reservation ends, you return the equipment kit by reading the parent item ID. By default, Trail also returns the entire content of the parent item.
