Creating a new reservation (mobile)
Creating and managing reservations is easy with the Trail mobile app! You can create and manage reservations directly in Trail’s iOS and Android apps, even when you’re away from a computer.
Note: To make reservations, user must have either reader or editor rights for reservations.
Creating a New Reservation
- Open the Trail mobile app
- Go to Menu → Reservations (or My Reservations)
- Tap the + icon at the top of the screen
- Fill in the reservation details:
- Title
- Location (optional)
- Start and End Time
- Description (optional)

- Tap Save once the basic information is filled in
- Trail will open the reservation’s dedicated page
Planning Items for the Reservation
Decide how many units of each model you need. This ensures that enough items will be available when the reservation period begins.
- Tap the + icon
- Enter the quantity next to the correct model
- Return to the reservation page
- Planned models and quantities will appear at the bottom of the page in grey

Checking Out and Returning Items
Checking out items means assigning a specific item for use, ensuring the right items are allocated to the reservation.
- Tap the barcode icon

- Scan the item’s QR code

- Checked-out items will appear in blue

Returning items works the same way:
- Tap the barcode icon
- Scan the item’s QR code
- Returned items will appear in green

⭐ Trail Tips
- Upcoming reservations can also be viewed from the homepage
- If a QR or barcode does not scan, you can manually enter the item ID in the Type barcode field
