Lendings App: Sign in and identify a user

The Trail Lendings App is used to hand out, and return equipment to Trail users.

Before equipment can be handed out, sign in to the correct lending terminal and identify the user receiving the equipment.

The Lendings App is an additional service and is not included in the basic Trail license. If you are interested in using the Lendings App, contact sales@trail.fi.

Signing in to the Lendings App

  1. Open https://lendings.terminal.trail.fi/ in your web browser
    1. We recommend using Firefox, Google Chrome, or Safari.
  2. Enter terminal name and password provided by your Trail Admin User
    1. Login credentials are terminal based.
  3. Click Login

  1. When you have successfully signed in, you will see this view:

  1. Click Start using

The terminal is linked to a specific location. If your organisation hands out equipment from multiple locations, each location needs its own terminal with a separate terminal name and password.

Admin Users can view and manage terminals in Trail's Admin Menu.

Identify the user


To hand out equipment for user, note that user must have profile in Trail with following rights:

  • Lendings - Reader
  • Items - Reader
  • Access to item's departments
  1. Select how do you want to identify a user:
    1. Identify a user with an ID card
      1. Scan the user's ID card with the card reader
      2. If needed, click Show to check the ID number
      3. If the user's page does not open automatically, press Return/Enter on your keyboard
      4. The user's equipment card opens.
    2. Identify a user by name
      1. Click Search user by name below the ID field
      2. Enter at least three characters of the user's name
      3. Select the correct user from the suggested results
      4. Press Return/Enter on your keyboard

  1. The user's equipment card opens, and you can start marking equipment to give to user.
